On Wednesday, June 6th 2018, Bayside BMX Club hosted the Inaugural Women on BMX night!
What a great night it was, 11 ladies came to try BMX out in a relaxed, fun friendly environment.
With expert guidance from Letitia Wetherhead, Raylene Pruett, Julie Freeland and Monique Smith from Perspective Athlete Development, the ladies went from being hesitant to go down the ramp, by the end of the night they were balancing at the start gate! Learning how to pump, take the corners and position on the start gate were a few of the skills that were discussed and tried out.
Riding in a relaxed environment proved to be the key making it a successful night and enjoyed by all.
A big thank you to Sean O’Connor for the setup and organising the night, including arranging the paperwork and enabling the night to go ahead.
Stay tuned for the next Women on BMX night to come!
